This month is all about our body and face parts! We are studying new vocabulary really hard! Go, Language arts class!There are so many ways to remember the new words: we move with the music and look for the right flashcards, we dance and point at our body and face parts, we read books about them, we watch learning videos, we draw ourselves, we make funny clown faces...etc.

Hello, everyone! This week my preschoolers made me really proud. Not only our 1 and 2 year olds do not cry in the morning saying their good-byes to mommies, but also how eager they are to learn and explore anything around them makes me more and more excited about teaching them.This month was about getting to know the school and things in it. Our preschoolers have learned about their daily routines, explored the parks, ponds and library nearby. We do learn through play and let our little ones enjoy their classes by letting them choose the activities they prefer during the day.
Now, that you saw all of the beautiful pictures of our little preschoolers, you know how busy-busy they are! There is no time to be upset about mommy leaving in the morning....there is so much to learn and explore! See you at school!

Hello, Everyone! I have a very accomplished feeling today, because we have finally got to Egg Hunt! The weather this month has promised more rain then during the rainy season, I guess... But we got really lucky this week! Our words of gratitude to all who came to Kinuta park today and spent two hours of fun with us! We got to see our old friends and new friends, we got to do what we can not do at school: run around very fast and scream very loud:), play outdoors all together , big and small, teachers and parents. I thank all for joining, and thank my team for being so productive and fun at all times! Lots of beautiful pictures were taken, and I must say our camera man has managed to capture the most fun moments perfectly! Thank you very much as well!
We have couple of more days to study before Golden week, let's make the best of them. Our students will be facing the big "Back to School" theme review, they will also continue working in their books.
Our preschool class will be visiting parks around Setagaya area and enjoying the last beautiful cherry blossoms and spring sunshine.Have a great weekend! We see you all at school!

Hello, everyone! Too, bad, but this time the weather has prepared a challenge for us. It is raining cats and dogs today, and we can not hunt for Easter eggs as planned. But! There is always a next Saturday! Sorry for delay, but we are doing it anyway!
Please, try to have a great weekend in spite of this heavy rain, everyone! I will leave you with my recent cherry blossoms pictures. My family and I managed to visit couple of hot sakura spots around Tokyo before all this rain. I hope that you did the same! See you all at school!

Hi, everyone! I must say this month went so quick for me and everybody at Little Minds. It was not only a busy month, but may be the most rewarding of all months for our Preschool students and teachers. We all spent a long year together and now it was time to see what every and each of students has learned and how big everybody has grown. Spring School has brought new friends to Little Minds and, of course, lots of smiles and laughs!
The highlight of this month was our graduation ceremony. Most of the preschoolers were graduating this year, but we are happy to know that absolutely everybody stays with Little Minds and will join our afternoon program. I would like to thank all of the parents who made it to our ceremony, I thank my co-workers, all of my lovely preschoolers and our dear friend Kaori, who took a great part in our event by arranging wonderful flower bouquets for the graduates.
This year Little Minds teachers will take more time to accomplish preschool yearbooks, we wanted our graduation day to be presented among its events, so please be patient, my dear preschoolers, you will receive your special albums after Golden Week.
I must say, i am grateful for my dear co-worker and friend Joss for helping me so much this year. Her wonderful ideas and amazing drawings made our yearbooks unique! And I had so much fun making the pages and layouts in a great company. Thank you, Kumiko, for loading tons and tons of pictures and printing them, sorting them afterwords listening to all of our comments and ideas :) I think we came up with a very cool result after all! I am looking forward to our preschoolers reaction.
April is just behind the corner, new term, new and old friends to meet! Do not forget about our fun April event - Easter Egg Hunt in Kinuta Park! Please, let us know if you want to bring your friends as well. Everyone is welcome! But for now, we are all on Spring vacation! Have Fun, Everyone! Take care! And see you all at school!

Hello, everyone! How do you find this weather recently? Last week we had a perfect chance to review our weather vocabulary! Rain, shine, snow and wind, we have experienced all! Winter is fighting with Spring, and we are so happy, that Winter is going to loose again, aren't we... Everybody is looking forward to warmer days and spring time activities.
Last week we did a big review, our students love these activities, because during the review week they get to use the whole classroom, they don't have to be sitting at the tables at all times, we let them compete, challenge each other, race and guess. I must say, that I was impressed more then disappointed, and the highlight of last week was our Thursday Immersion 1 class, where all eight students showed great skills, answered all of my questions, and even were surprised themselves how well they did. I felt so proud of them!
I felt happy, because I finally have finished our " Let us talk about today" felt board, there were so many pieces to put together, but it was truly worth it, because our students got really inspired to talk more, and were taking turnes to assemble the pieces again and again.
The month of March means the celebration of Girls Day in the beginning of it, our teacher Joss has brought a very cute idea of Hina doll craft, Preschool and Campus classes were happy to create their dolls.
There are many pictures of our last week experiences, I didn't mention our big Telling Time review, and what fun activities we have organized for all. Advanced classes were challenged by the mixed up sentences to assemble and difficult time matching activities.
It was a busy-busy week, as planned. See you all at school!

Hello everyone! This week was all about chocolate and chocolate smell in our classroom! I think we could compete with the cake shop next door, that's for sure! Please, check out all of the pretty chocolate wrapping ideas we have used for Valentine's Day this time.
Our tip for the yummiest chocolates ever!
Black chocolate 200gr
Brown sugar 2 table spoons
Butter 20 gr
Warm water 3 table spoons
put everything in a bowl, hit over a pot with boiling water, make sure your bowl doesn't touch the surface of the water, or your chocolate will create lumps in it, which are not pretty...you want your chocolate to be smooth:) mix with a wooden spatula untill your chocolate is really smooth and shiny( make sure the heat is small at all times). After your chocolate mix is ready, turn off your heat and divide your mixture between cute shaped cups, let it cool in the fridge for an hour or so. Before cooling you can add dried fruits and marshmellows to your chocolate, nuts as well. Use your imagination:). Enjoy your chocolates with a hot drink!
We keep on studying weather, calendar and clothes this month, reviewing as well. Take and look and you'll see for yourself. Come visit us anytime, see you at school!
P.S. : Teachers are working hard on organizing Preschool Year Book pages, I think, it is something to look forward to:)

Hello everyone, February came in its power! Last week we were getting rid of bad luck, we talked about weather and started cutting out hearts and decorating for Valentine's Day! It has been a very busy but fun week! I must also say, that Preschool has started its Journal, we did couple of pages, but the whole thing parents are to receive in the end of this month! It is very cool, so please, be patient! I would like to post some pictures to highlight last week's events. Please, enjoy them, and I'll see you at school!

Hello everyone! It is the end of January, and I feel like I didn't post for a while. This New Year of 2012 sure started with lots of snow and cold weather, our Boroichi festival made us work the first week with no holidays, but it was worth it, because we have met lots of old and new friends. Lots of things have been sold, and especially our backpack pins and angel straps. We got some left over, so we are still selling them at school.
This month theme was designed to get everyone back from winter vacation in our learning environment, to review everything what could be forgotten during our long relaxing vacation. I must say, that no one was dissapointed; our students came back refreshed and ready to work.This month was about phonics and word building! Older students even did their sentence and question building! We made crosswords! We recycled and created, read and rhymed, worked with our work books and English magazines.
our students have also competed against each other in teams, which was a highlight of the month, and everyone felt so smart and cool.
I must mention the new materials our teacher Joss has brought from South Africa! New games and workbooks full of word building ideas and worksheets for our Cram School and Language Arts Classes. Thank you, Joss, indeed! This is what I call a true professional, who even on vacation thinks about her students and curriculum! I am very-very grateful!And all of our students are!
As always, I will leave you with the pictures to enjoy! I hope that some of the ideas can be an inspiration for the teachers who love and enjoy teaching, who look for new or long forgotten, but useful, ideas to use in their class. See you all at school!

Hello, everyone! The month of December went by really-really fast, and I thought, I just had to share some impressions of this season with all of you! I appreciate all of the students and friends who have joined us during our Winter school event, we sure were very-very busy, and have made some cute and useful things to decorate, or to wear. I appreciate all of the people who have bought our handmade backpack pins and phone straps during Boroichi Festival! Thank you very much!
Now that I am at home getting busy cleaning my house before New Year's, and filling up my fridge with osechi, I will leave you guys with all of the pictures to enjoy. Do not get upset if you didn't make it to Winter School this year, there's always a next time!
I would like to thank all of the families, members of our big Little Minds Family for trusting us and staying with us this year. It has been an extremely hard year for all of us in Japan, let us be happy that we get to celebrate this New 2012 Year arriving together with our loved ones, with yummy food and under our own roofs. Let us hope for the best in 2012. Have a Happy New Year, Everyone!
P.S. Do not forget to share with your teachers, what exactly you got from Santa, and whether he liked our cookies or not...See you back at school starting on January 10th....until then...have a great Winter Vacation!!!!
