As I have said before this time we had to change our destination from Yamanashi to Miura because of February snowfall in Yamanashi. This did not change our adventure spirit, of course.
I must say I love going on a Spring Field Trip, and Little Minds has been doing it every year since we have been open. Taking a trip together during this time of the school year has a special meaning for both students and teachers. With some of the students we meet every day, spend a lot of time together, share laughs and tears, growing together. Some of these students will be leaving to their Japanese kindergarten, and for both sides, I think, it is significant to create these last memories together. Children remember huge things like a fun strawberry picking trip on a big bus, so do the parents. Our afternoon school students are willing to spend more time at Little Minds, but lessons schedules are fixed, and there is no more then 50 minutes a week we can see each other, and such field trips let us spend more time together, have a lot of fun and just talk about anything outside of school's walls. Again, create new memories! I highly appreciate parents who understand the meaning of this trip and let their children join. Thank you very much indeed to all who came this time. All 46 people including 4 preschoolers, kindergarten and elementary school students, parents, teachers and staff have had an enormous fun experience that day.
First of all, the weather was perfection! And the views were amazing!
Second, we have made our lunch ourselves. It was the yummiest pizza ever! You can see this happy preschooler's face!
I have to say my words of appreciation to Mr. Matsuoka, who has spent a lot of time with the most little ones during our trip and made their field trip experience even more unforgettable. I also have to thank him for the beautiful pictures he has been taking along with all the adventures. I must mention Mr. Matsuoka original road trip bingo pages!!! Our students( and even their parents) have had the best time on the way there and back looking out of the window and spotting police cars and McDonnald's sign boards, various birds and animals. After having them found, they have used stickers to mark their bingo sheets. I am proud to say that the most of the passengers have completed their task!
Third! Not to forget all of the outdoor fun! The huge grass slide was a hit!
And finally!!! Of course, STRAWBERRIES!!!
Even having tummies full of pizza did not bother us!!! Ready-set-go! The goal was set: Do not leave any red strawberries behind!!!
We have made it back to Little Minds in the early evening, in spite of little traffic everyone was charged up and excited! We all had the best time!
I am sure that pictures will tell you the rest!
Thanks again to all who have joined!
We are looking forward to the next time!
See you at school!
P.S.: I thank my small but very strong team, who has made this trip possible. Thanks to our camera man as well for capturing the funnest moments!

We have discovered this week, that the month of September was gone...October is here and suddenly from all corners of the classroom and office big and small boxes with Halloween stuff start appearing. Yes, indeed, we have started our preparations! Preschool class was practicing their freeze dance ( you might think, it is easy! well....then you never tried to make a crew of two-three-year-olds to freeze:)...)
Little Minds is looking forward to see all of the members for our Halloween Party (October 26th, Saturday, at 15:30) and absolutely anyone for our Halloween Parade in Boroichi street (same day, October 26th, Saturday, at 17:00) Candy fee is 500yen for memebers and 1000yen for non-members! You are guaranteed to have a great deal of candy! Just be in time to reserve your ticket!
See you at school!
We have a wonderful response from many parents. And it is nice to know, that parents looks through their children work and ask questions about what they have been studying. Some words are new for the parents as well, and they do not hesitate to ask us how these new words are used. We are always glad to answer all of your questions. See you at school!
With Jose's help our youngest students did thier first steps into the world of geometry. We have created the most beautiful and so nicely planned language arts project about the SUN! Take a look! We have found them really successful! Even two-year-olds were very concentrated and wanted to finish their wonderful work.
Every student had to make a little presentation about the sun! What a great job, guys!
Do you have anything special you would like to accomplish during the next summer season? Can you say that in both, Japanese and English?
Have a great long weekend, everyone!
See you at school!
Hello, everyone! I just thought I should show you these absolutely the cutest yellow submarines our preschoolers have made for letter "S" this week! Great idea, Jose! Wonderful results, guys!
The best work is displayed at Little Minds front doors! We are very proud of our students' creations! See you all at school.
I have to mention these yummy-yummy macaroons one of our preschoolers's moms has brought for us today! Very-very delicious! Nothing like sweets! Thank you very much!
First of all, letter R seemed to have a large variety of what we could have done studying it, there were so many possibilities, it was very hard to choose from.
We have used natural materials like rocks to decorate letter R, craft like this one not only teaches our yongest students recognizing letter R, but also develops hand-an-eye coordination and fine-motor skills. Preschoolers enjoyed choosing beautiful and one-of-a-kind each and every rock for their crafts.
Take a look at the beautiful outcome!
One of the most fun crafts this week was our rocket craft! Each student got to personalize it with own picture in the end! Great idea, isn't it?
Our Friday lesson's highlight was a beautiful rainbow making activity created by Jose. Preschoolers were supposed to follow the rainbow color pattern, work with glue and create their own original rainbow mosaics. Here are the best of the best rainbows! Good job, guys!!!
In spite of rain and strong wind, please, try to enjoy your weekend, everyone!
We see you at school!
Our students, including elementary school students, responded very well, and enjoyed their new worksheets very much.
Way to go, everybody! See you all at school!
