Handmade necklace? - Yes, we sure can do that!
patricia_y

Hello, everybody! This morning wasn't crowded, but of course, it doesn't mean we didn't have lots of things to get busy with... Today project was handmade beads and we got some new flour and salt for that in advance! All morning we were mixing salt-flour-glitter and water colors to get our beautiful salt dough ready, then teachers and students were shaping beads out of dough and baking them in the oven...I must say, our salt dough not only looks pretty, but also smells great as well...Too bad, it can not be eaten!!!

Once we were done with baking, I started opening holes and preparing beads for threading...Our Language arts class was very lucky to be the first class to work with these colorful beads. We combined them with the shells one of our students has brought  last year from Okinawa, star and pony beads! And may I say, we got a wonderful result! Salt dough is the hit of this summer season, we are planning to work with it and make some more great things to remember this Summer School. See you at school!
