Summer memories

Hello, everyone! We are back from our one week vacation and ready to enjoy the last two weeks of summer school!
I spent a half of a week at home taking care of my house and just relaxing, then we were going places close to home, like Yokohama-Minatomirai. I like it there, because it's not crowded and children get to ride all those attractions without standing in a line for a long time. We did a little shopping and had a nice quiet dinner together. My daughter stayed in our good friends' house close to the beach, and she had a blast at the local pool. They also went to the museum in Odawara and visited many beautiful sights in that area. I really appreciate our friends taking care of Maru and giving her the opportunity to create her wonderful summer memories even without her parents around.
This year my family chose not to go to the beach. It's too much traffic on the way there and back. We chose a cool place in Akikawa valley, Hachioji. We did camping by the river, we loved the cool air and cool water, did BBQ and enjoyed staying in a cottage. It felt nice to wake up in the morning and hear the birds and bugs singing and the river flowing instead of the busy city sounds. We had the best time ever and think of going back next year.

The last day of my vacation we went to Ikebukoro's Sunshine City to visit Ultraman Festival, since my son is a huge fan of this hero. We got to see many of the Ultraman characters' statues and even a show, where Ultra heroes were fighting the bad-bad monsters and other scary things ( I can't remember all of the names!!!) My son's name is Leo, and his favorite ultraman is Ultraman Leo. Leo got to see the statue only this time, but he was happy anyway. Leo was so serious during the show, so he didn't hear my questions or anything except the action of the stage. He had so much fun!
How did you spend your vacation? We will be asking this question in September. But now we still talk about personal hobbies and family hobbies. Do not miss the rest of our Summer School! We still got lots of fun things to enjoy! See you all at school!
